What is the position all aboutCharter has recently been recognized for it’s dedicated and growing “Clarity” practice, which is a branded initiative focused on delivering the best outcome & experience led practice in the industry. Clarity is focused on business architecture, digital transformation, adoption, operational simplicity, customer success, & lifecycle management.The Business Analyst is a key member of the Clarity team, and will participate in a wide variety of activities, providing the candidate with opportunity for a high growth career and personal enrichment.The position focuses on 3 core aspects of business:
  • Helping enable the extended Charter team to have new or deeper conversations with customers about their customer’s planning & goals, financial & budgeting, strategy & execution, expansion & growth, as well as providing input to cost-benefit analyses on solution options.
  • Helping drive & contribute to internal process, documentation, and tooling - with a heavy focus on data analysis, insight generation, and application.
  • Collaborating with our manufacturers, distributors, and internal sales & admin teams to facilitate improved ease of transaction and deeper relationship, as well as administering data points internally & externally for improved operational efficiencies.
Essential skills:
  • Data Processing & Analytics
  • Excellent Excel and/or BI skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables & graphs)
  • Comfort with SQL and other databases
  • Ability to create technical documentation, both written and diagrammatical using tools such as Word, Power Point and Visio.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and able to read and write in English in a professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: proven team player with ability to deliver outstanding product/service and build relationships with clients.
  • Self-motivated; demonstrated ability to take initiative, effectively prioritize tasks and accomplish goals with minimal supervision.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Institute of Technology Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Business; and a minimum of 3 years of current, relevant experience in an IT environment similar to BCIT, including four of the last six years in a similar position; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Must have demonstrated advanced and current IT knowledge
  • Must have demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
  • Proven commitment to providing and maintaining the highest level of customer service
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet changing priorities and multi-task while meeting strict deadlines
  • Must be a team player and work well with cross-departmental teams
  • Proven project management skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge and techniques
  • Commitment to regular ongoing professional development (including leadership and specific IT skills, professional associations, and current industry trends)
  • High level of professionalism and ethics
Working Conditions
  • Overtime as required
  • On-call (May be required)
  • Minimal Travel – Less than 10%
