  • Conducts business systems analysis such as: researching, investigating, defining and
developing portions of business systems proposals; documenting, designing and modellingbusiness system processes, data flows, controls and responsibilities; defining the purpose, scopeand requirements for proposed systems; gathering and analyzing data on inputs, outputs andfunctions; developing system specifications and other system design deliverables; preparing testplans and data; testing, troubleshooting and reviewing test results; preparing prototypes;preparing resource, schedule and cost estimates; reviewing and summarizing pilot or researchfindings with higher level Business System Consultants (BSCs); documenting functional gapsbetween requirements and package software; preparing cost/benefit analyses; preparing variouspresentation material.
  • Organizes and/or facilitates working group meetings; organizes, coordinates and assists to train
users; prepares training modules, user instruction and procedure manuals, quick referenceguides, training/user aids, on-line help and client or user community communications; performstesting, benchmarking and system administration; cleans up and reconciles records, files andother system implementation details.
  • Researches and conducts feasibility studies and pilots on emerging Information Technology and
Information Services (IT/IS) products and/or methods for client related and special projects;prepares reports and recommendations for review by higher level BSCs; participates in thedevelopment of tactical and strategic plans, approaches and methods to plan and implement IT/ISand business process/practice change.
  • Participates in conducting post implementation reviews; follows up with technical systems staff to
ensure enhancements are implemented to achieve planned targets; prepares summaries,recommendations and reports.
  • Liaises with System Development Consultants in the design of standalone, single user or single
department applications in discussion with clients; may be required to perform programmingrelated tasks; prepares and provides user training, system familiarization and on-going systemsupport and maintenance; prepares system documentation and reference materials.
  • Responds to and/or alerts other team members or groups within Westech to client concerns over
service quality, training, design and implementation issues; discusses and refers potentail newbusiness or leads to other gorups within Westech; maintains and ensures a high order ofcustomer service quality to clients.
  • Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above that do not affect the rating of the job.
Qualifications:
  • System analysis, modelling, system specification development, business process analysis,
information system design, business case preparation, documentation standards andrequirements, training methods and administration, personal computer and related large scaleapplication program operation and functioning are typically acquired through graduation from aBachelor degree program in Management Information Systems, Business Administration orCommerce with computer science and business majors or equivalent plus completion of in-houseCommon Desktop System courses and a combination of other systems related courses, emailsystems and internet browsers.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a lower-level Business System Analyst, System Developer
or IT system exposure with a knowledge of the systems analysis process, integrated packageoperation and modification, system specifications and application development, training etc. isrequired.
  • Well developed oral, written, interpersonal, presentation, communications and analytical skills.

  • This is a Full Time Temporary position until approximately September 2024.
  • Candidate should possess experience working on large scale, complex, multi-year infrastructure
projects
  • Candidate should possess knowledge and experience with PPM tools for record management
including: Sharepoint (PPM and SCW workspaces), Hydroshare, Filenet (Media space, Asset andEngineering Records (AERS), PPM), Virtual Assistants (RPA), Aconex.
  • Candidate should possess advanced knowledge of MS Excel
