Job Description

A Better Life Foundation - Canada Summer JobsFundraising OrganizerA Better Life Foundation is a charity devoted to improving the lives of our community using food as a tool of connection to upli, improve and nourish the people we serve. We deliver a daily meal program of~1,500 meals made with the intention of being much more than a meal, but an opportunity to reach the people we serve, oen in isolation, to let them know we love them.We intrinsically believe that understanding our operations, our people and our events first hand is critical to success in all of our roles, so youʼll have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of what we do.The Role: The role of the Fundraising Assistant is to support our leadership in its fundraising efforts by using your organizational skills to help create fundraising appeals, such as brochures, emails, and campaigns. You will also be responsible for collecting donor information, and helping to organize and the logistics for development events. You will continue to maintain and improve donor relationships. The right candidate for this position will have an entry level understanding and a passion for how applying that data can impact development, ultimately allowing us to increase our impact. This is a temporary, full time position report to the Program Manager and Executive Director.Location: Hybrid of work from home and out of Save On Meats (43 West Hastings St.)Hours: 35 hours per week - with a flexible schedule to work some evenings for eventsRate: $22/hourStart Date: July 25, 2022End Date: September 16, 2022Duties Include:

  • Maintain donor relationship management database, including updating donor records, compiling biographical information, data entry, and pulling reports/queries
  • Process incoming gis and ensure that gis are accurately recorded and thanked
  • Track pledges and monthly donations
  • Analyze donor giving patterns to increase donor retention, upgrading, and conversion rates
  • Assist with individual donor stewardship including acknowledgement letters, thank you cards, donor appreciation gis, and other communications via phone and email
  • Assist with preparation of the annual report and other reports to donors as needed
  • Assist with fundraising events, including meeting and greeting donors
  • Conduct research on donor prospects and other acquisition strategies to expand donor base nationally
Skills:
  • Highly organized, attention to detail and able to collect and analyze data
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge and experience in Donor Management Soware or a keen interest in learning the soware to its fullest potential
  • Experience in fundraising or in jobs like customer outreach and sales is an asset
