Proof of vaccination status will be required.Summary:The British Columbia Office of Patient-Centred Measurement is seeking Casual Bilingual Surveyors to engage with residents in meaningful conversations about their experiences of living in long term care homes. Surveyors are responsible for conducting structured interviews with residents in their preferred language. Working with the project team, the Surveyor will ensure that surveys are conducted in a consistent, safe and courteous manner.Qualifications / Skills and Education:What do you need to succeedThe ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (oral and written), a flexible work schedule and will possess experience working with an older adult population. Previous experience in assisted living or long-term care an asset.Candidate will be proficient (ability to read, write and speak) in both English and an alternate language such as Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjabi, Italian, Korean and German.Candidate must be able to travel to assigned long-term care homes in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser regions. Potential to travel outside of the lower mainland.Training in conducting structured interviews and survey administration will be provided. Light clerical or administrative duties may be assigned.AvailabilityJoin a supportive atmosphere with flexible scheduling; ideal for those with a busy lifestyle.

  • Monday to Friday shifts may vary with morning and afternoon.
  • Typical shifts 8:30 am – 12 pm and 1:00pm – 4:30 pm.
Depending on your availability, shifts may be as little as 6 hours/week or as high as 37.5 hours/week;Job Requirements:
  • Vulnerable Sector CRC Clearance
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (2 doses), and
  • Must have received at least one booster at least two weeks prior to being deployed to a Care Home to conduct resident survey interviews, and
  • Must be willing to undergo a Rapid Antigen Test within 24 hours in advance of arriving for an onsite shift in a Care Home
  • Must be willing to follow PPE (personal protective equipment) requirements, including but not limited to masking
  • Computer literacy and regular access to computer, internet and ability to participate in Zoom video calls.
