About DDS WirelessDDS Wireless International is a 32-year-old company which is a leading provider of transportation industry solutions. We are an innovative developer of software as a service (SaaS) products and services and wireless hardware devices for the Transit and Taxi market segments. We have a global presence with offices in Richmond, BC, Canada; Redmond, Washington; Oxford & Cambridge, United Kingdom; Stockholm, Sweden; and Tampere, Finland.

  • About the role*
We are looking for a Chief Finance Officer who has experience with an existing SaaS software company in Canada. As the leader of the finance team, the Chief Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing all finance functions of DDS Wireless and will report to the Chief Executive Officer. This individual will be responsible for external/internal reporting, financial planning & analysis, taxation, and controllership functions (accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, payroll). Extensive experience in operations and finance is required and experience in Human Resources Legal and Administration would be greatly appreciated.In addition, this individual will act as a true partner to the business in leading a culture of data-driven decision-making, centered around analysis with a focus on return on investment as we implement our growth strategy.*Roles & Responsibilities*Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for and evaluated on the following:
  • Develop and execute the financial strategy by providing a financial and analysis and value-added decision support to business initiatives and teams in understanding and optimizing their revenue potential, profit margins and capital deployment
  • Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company and provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs
  • Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained
  • As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), leadership in the development and maintenance of the strategic business plan with the relevant inputs of budgetary control, financial forecasts and management reporting
  • Oversee and contribute to the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting documents for presentation to internal management
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the Company’s financial covenants and cash flow requirements. Serve as a key contact for the Company’s financial institution partners
Top candidates for CFO role will have the following:
  • 15-20 years of progressive accounting/finance experience with prior experience in leading and coaching teams. Experience working in a SaaS technology company an asset
  • Business degree with a CPA designation required, with working knowledge of IFRS, internal controls, and Canadian corporate taxation concepts
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters to the SLT and broader management
  • Experience with financial analysis to frame and solve business problems.
  • Must be a hands-on self-directed contributor, eager to learn, and a resourceful problem solver
  • Leadership, influencing and communication skills are a key factor, you will have an ability to work cross-functionally, and with senior management and executive staff and will also work with outside parties (auditors, tax, bankers)
