Based in our Vancouver office you will build your career within our industry leading T amp;D Lines team. Embark on this pivotal journey flourishing under the supervision of our highly experienced Western Canada T amp;D Lines Leadership Team  Primary Responsibilities 

  • Under the supervision of a professional engineer, perform the structural design of overhead transmission lines (route selection, structures, foundations, hardware assemblies) and associated facilities for voltages from 60kV to 500kV
  • Develop safe engineering solutions through design, problem analysis, and interpreting specifications for medium complexity utilities projects. 
  • Assist project/operations management in meeting safety, cost, quality, and schedule targets by proposing plan changes, recommending contractor payments, preparing progress reports, and coordinating work schedules 
  • Resolve highly technical and unusual design and field engineering problems through independent studies, analysis, exercising judgment in information selection, and recommending safe engineering designs 
  • Contribute to CIMA+ #39;s engineering practices by conducting studies, developing technical standards, exercising judgment in information evaluation, recommending designs, and providing guidance to other engineers 
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by defining engineering scope with clients, establishing design criteria, approving technical documentation, and assessing/reporting progress against standards and objectives for safe, quality, budget-compliant, and timely project completion 
  • Perform design tasks under the direct supervision of a professional engineer.
  • Prepare project documentation like reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, design basis, and test plans per CIMA+’s practices 
  • Develop design work packages with scope, duration, and effort estimates, and manage design tasks including scope, schedule, and cost for existing and new facilities 
  • Offer technical assistance, construction support, and field reviews as required 
  • Apply loads, design criteria, seismic analysis per regulatory and industry standards, considering associated civil, mechanical, electrical systems like foundations, lightning protection, conductors, and hardware
