Job Description

Clinical Informatics Advisor (Healthcare O365 Support) – Contract position in Vancouver (Hybrid):On behalf of our client in Vancouver, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for a Clinical Informatics Advisor (Healthcare O365 Support) with our client for a contract opportunity.Role Description:The Clinical Informatics Advisor – Microsoft Modern Desktop, will leverage their experience, capabilities, and knowledge to support all project activities to successfully realize project goals. Work collaboratively and in partnership with the Microsoft Modern Desktop project team, the DMST Leaders, Desktop Application & Technologies, & Technology Refresh (TRP), Planning & Delivery (including Business and Clinical Readiness, change and communications, project controls & governance) Leads/teams, as well as other key stakeholders (IMITS Tech Services, business/clinical representatives, site sponsors, NTT Data, Health Authority (HA) organizations – VCH, PHC, etc.) in respect to activities listed below.Responsibilities:

  • Provide the clinical perspective to defining and drafting an Office 365, Windows 11, and Citrix Cloud Thin Client expansion deployment approach, strategy, and plan.
  • Support the execution of clinical impact and readiness, current state, feasibility, and workflow change analysis ensuring clinical best practices are brought forward to inform/mitigate the change impact on clinical staff.
  • Liaise with DMST leadership, clinical leaders, and other stakeholders to evaluate and implement appropriate technical solutions in clinical environments.
  • Identify, document, manage, and resolve clinical issues and risks identified during the project including mitigating clinical impacts.
  • Share a clinical viewpoint on the design, development, documentation, and implementation of an Office 365, Windows 11 (including Windows 365 Cloud PC), and Citrix Cloud-VDI Expansion framework to support the new Microsoft Software as a Service (SaaS) model.
  • Co-facilitate requirements gathering and engagement sessions with clinical and business stakeholders to extract requirements (e.g., shared devices, client vs. web outlook usage, etc.).
  • Above is to be used to support licensing requirements for both Office 365 and Citrix Cloud Services.
  • Translate user clinical/business requirements into technical requirements for the technical solutioning teams (as required).
  • Work closely with both DMST and project team Change Management Lead to support Office 365 and Windows 11 literacy and adoption.
  • Draft reports, briefing notes, and other supporting documentation for clinical management and project governance (i.e. readiness and/or sustainment).
  • Perform other role-related duties and project activities as directed.
  • Lead/contribute to business/clinical engagement, DMST governance, Project Delivery Steering Committee (PDSC), and status meetings.
  • Provide/contribute project status updates, address actions, and support/contribute to issues/risk management activities and escalations/resolutions.
  • Support delivery/completion of core activities (e.g. strategy, planning, schedule, reporting, and risk/issues) to ensure DMST and the project’s ability to meet required timelines and deliverables.
  • Inform clinical and business use cases as well as guide design, development, and implementation of new processes, systems, and enhancements.
  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes specific to clinical workflows and requirements.
  • Other clinical advisor duties as required.
  • Completion of core assessments (e.g., current state, shared devices requirements, user requirements, etc.) and requirements gathering outcomes related to Clinical workflow/feasibility, readiness, etc.
  • Creation of all supporting documentation, diagrams, workflows (i.e. swim lanes, etc.), processes, procedures, etc. to support the project; as well as handover/transition to steady-state operations (e.g., DMST, IMITS, etc.) and to support future state requirements.
  • Use and/or Test cases, etc. to support Office 365, Windows 11/365 SaaS, and VDI Thin Client expansion, solutions, and deployment planning.
  • Identify, collect, document, and analyze Microsoft Office usage requirements within the environment today (outcomes of engagement, analysis, etc.) – Clinical Focus.
  • Define/document/update Service Desk support processes to align with the future state support model and clinical users’ expectations.
  • Draft future-state standard operating procedures and swim lane processes to support training and transition to steady-state operations (i.e., DMST, others as required).
  • Support development of end-user change, communication and training materials needed to support the transition to Office 365, and if required, Windows 11/365 SaaS and Citrix Cloud (VDI expansion).
  • Contribute to the completion of the Office 365, Windows 11/365 SaaS, and Citrix Cloud Strategy. document(s), detailing its applicability within the environment from a clinical and user experience stand-point.
  • Materials needed to support Business Case and Briefing Notes to obtain any/all additional funding needed re: Windows 11, Windows 365 Cloud PC enablement, and/or Citrix Cloud Services implementation.
  • Agendas, minutes, presentation decks, etc. to support key deliverables, stakeholder engagement, governance, senior leadership, etc.
  • Other deliverables as defined by DMST Leadership and/or Project Team Sr. Project Manager.
Requirements:
  • Experience working on technology projects in a healthcare setting; with a focus on achieving an excellent user experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of hospital/clinical systems, care delivery processes, clinical roles, policies, and standards preferably gained in the VCH, PHC environment.
  • Strong demonstrated experience with requirements management techniques with a focus on clinical informatics.
  • Ability to relate to a diverse group of clients and other stakeholders, and anchor the modernization of VCH, PHC’s clinical desktop workspace.
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to comprehend, analyze and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience in business/clinical process development and re-engineering.
  • Ability to extract information and knowledge from clinical leaders and staff and translate it effectively to technical SMEs.
  • Ability to effectively navigate and deliver results in a large, complex, and ambiguous IT environment
  • Understanding of Microsoft offerings (operating systems, Office suite of applications, etc.).
  • Ability to independently deliver work results, coordinate, prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
  • Prior experience collaborating/working with various stakeholders: IT professionals, Business and Clinical Senior Management teams, Executives; and vendor partners.
  • Excellent MS Office skills: spreadsheets, word processing software, and presentation software.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working on technical implementation.

Nice-to-have:
  • Experience working within the BC Health Authorities.
  • Prior experience implementing Office 365 in a public-sector organization.
  • Prior experience with Change Management, Modeling, and Requirements Management techniques and tools.
  • Understanding of Microsoft’s licensing model and the downstream impact on the end users.
