Job Description

Intelligent City is looking for a highly motivated candidate to join and manage our communications and create sales leads. We are looking for individuals that can combine creativity, ambition and productivity in the advancement of our new business and growth strategies. Your experience in mixed-use urban housing will be important to understand client needs and develop communications and business development strategies. You will perform activities to position Intelligent City as a leader in housing innovation, carbon neutral construction and integrated prefabricated mass-timber high rise construction.You will work directly with our senior leaders and collaborate daily with our technology and design-engineering teams to ensure projects opportunities are properly identified and managed. You will help to develop clear strategies and tactics to expand and accelerate our market traction.Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Create communication strategies and documents for media, client, and government relations
  • Collaborate with the Company's leadership team on communication and business development
  • Lead customer discovery, qualify leads and pursue prospects to help generate new business.
  • Create and maintain contacts with prospects and clients
  • Expand on and edit company templates and prepare RFP responses
  • Maintain entries in the Company's CRM system
  • Coordinate sales efforts with the Company's leadership team to perform joint-selling activities
  • Attend conferences to generate new leads of qualified prospects
  • Provide support in deal negotiations, contract development, and due diligence
  • Generate necessary documentation to assist presentations
Required Skills and Experience:
  • A post-secondary degree in communication design, marketing, development, business, or related fields
  • Strong collaboration and team skills
  • Understanding of mixed-use urban housing market and construction, for rental or sale
  • Understanding of regulatory environments and creating leadership within these
  • Experience in creating sales pipelines in the construction, housing, or real estate industry
  • Creativity and experience to work in multi-stakeholder communication environments
  • Experience doing business development in a high-growth environment
  • Ability to foster client relationships in large contract sales funnels
  • Ability to translate momentum into traction, in media, marketing and proposal materials editing
Desired Skills:
  • Provide succinct communications design with excellent writing and graphics
  • Experience in closing sales with private landowners, land developers and housing societies
  • Understanding of carbon neutrality, circular economy, and sustainability
  • Understanding of government mass-timber building regulations and funding mechanisms for housing
  • Knowledge of the non-profit and affordable housing sectors
  • General experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry
  • Understanding of the power of technology to transform sectors, and inherent challenges
  • Experience in interacting with news media and industry related blogs
Terms of Employment:
  • Permanent, full time position with 40h per week averaging agreement
  • Location: Vancouver, Kitsilano office, with partial home-based work possible
  • Annual salary depending on previous work experience with annual performance reviews
