Should you require accommodations throughout the application process, please be in touch.The Communications Manager works closely with the Program Director, executive team, and other program team members to develop, manage, and execute strategic communications for Simon Fraser University's Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue. The Centre fosters shared understanding and positive action through dialogue and engagement. As a trusted convener and hub for community initiatives, the Centre has engaged hundreds of thousands of participants to create solutions for many of society's most pressing issues, and actively support student learning through experiential education opportunities. The Manager is responsible for raising internal and external awareness of the Centre's reputation as a global centre for knowledge and practice on dialogue. The Manager provides strategic services, design, and leadership to support the Centre's brand narrative, marketing and communications materials, tools and overall messaging.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline, and four years of relevant experience in developing communications and/or marketing strategies, public relations, website content management and basic design; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Excellent knowledge of best practices and trends in communications, marketing, and public relations.Excellent knowledge of print and electronic media, social media, desktop publishing applications, and web, wireless, and content-management technologies.Good knowledge of dialogue and engagement.Good knowledge of CRMs and collaborative tools (i.e. Maximizer, Slack, or Google Drive).Knowledge of good practices for inter-cultural engagement, including cultural literacy in the norms of multiple communities in Metro Vancouver and Canada.Knowledge of creating culturally appropriate spaces and contexts (social and historical) for engagement between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.Knowledge of participatory engagement processes and working with groups traditionally under-served by government or facing barriers to participation.Excellent organizational skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and project management skills.Excellent leadership and teamwork skills.Ability to manage project budgets and deadlines.Ability to coordinate content production and workflow.Ability to exercise mature judgment, diplomacy and discretion, and to maintain confidentiality.Please include your cover letter and resume in one attachment.
