Job Description

INTERNAL /EXTERNAL POSTING #007The W_SÁNEC School Board invites applications for the following position:1.0 FTE Term Position: 0.5 Computer Technician and 0.5 Library Coordinator, Monday to Friday, 7 hrs. per day at the Saanich Adult Education Centre beginning immediately, to June 30, 2023.

  • The Library Coordinator 0.5 FTE position is complementary to the work of the Computer Technician and can be combined on condition that one person holds both qualifications.
Qualifications required:Two-year Technical diploma program (e.g. Computer Engineering) and one year applied experience working with servers and client workstations in a networked environmentOr an equivalent combination of training and experience such as a teaching assistant certificate and an aptitude for information technologyLibrary Technology Diploma or university level training in School librarianship and applied library experienceOr an equivalent combination of training and experience such as a teaching assistant certificate and an aptitude for library scienceValid Police Information CheckResponsibilities:Develop and maintain a student tracking system to include all students enrolled at SAEC in partnership programs and a separate plan within the WSB’s Post-Secondary DepartmentAssist the school in delivering online programming by supporting teachers with their websites, online curriculum, and associated elementsLead the development of a digital library and the process of digitizing local books, resources and W_SÁNEC -based research while adhering to all pertinent policies and permission standards associated with this type of workSupport instructors to digitize materials used in online programming and stored within the school’s libraryOnly applications containing the following information will be considered:Resume and cover LetterThree professional references (please provide telephone numbers and email addresses)Copies of valid certificates must accompany applicationCopy of recent Police Information CheckPreference will be given to First Nations AncestrySalary: Based on the W_SÁNEC School Board’s salary scalePlease direct applications to:Mrs. Rebecca CliffordE-mail only to:rclifford@wsanecschoolboard.caApplication Deadline: NOON, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2022The WSÁNEC School Board appreciates the interest of all applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Quick Apply
