We combine traditional management consulting with our rich data assets and in-house technology to provide our clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, test-and-learn business experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services. While specializing in the payments industry, Mastercard Data & Services also works closely with major retailers, airlines, and other enterprises, leveraging data and insights garnered from within and beyond its network.Your RoleAs an analytics enthusiast joining our new Vancouver team, be a part of the data revolution. We are helping to shape the future of data-driven insights by leveraging billions of anonymized, aggregated transactions in a 10 petabyte data warehouse to help financial institutions, merchants, media, and governments make better decisions. Be part of a team that is building and optimizing our world class analytical, modeling, data sourcing, econometrics, and product capabilities, and directly contribute to the organization’s strategic vision around broadening our data/AI services. Work across themes including targeting, loyalty, forecasting, credit risk, fraud, open banking, digital identity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and more.Working with technology and data, you can expect to actively contribute to client engagements and product development across a range of industries. You will independently identify issues in defined area of analysis, structure analysis with oversight, and synthesize into relevant recommendations and presentations. Responsibilities within project management include building day-to-day working relationships with entry-level clients and understanding client needs to provide creative input into your projects.In supporting the problem-solving process to drive high-value decisions, you will work closely with team members of various levels and contribute to the firms intellectual capital and solution development. Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or master’s degree (Economics/Statistics/Mathematics with an emphasis on business applications preferred) and at least 1-2 years of work experience
  • Experience in hands-on business analysis, modeling and segmentation and data mining using large volumes of granular data to deliver analytical solutions
  • Experience in a consulting organization or function
  • Experience working with large agile teams across multiple workstreams/functions
  • Strong Hadoop (Hive, Impala), Python, R, MS-Excel and Data Visualization skills
  • Platforms/Environments: Unix, SQL, VBA, Microsoft BI Stack
  • Exposure in payments, retail banking, retailers, restaurants, and/or airlines preferred
