Job Description

Coordinator, Laboratory Quality and Process ImprovementLower Mainland Labs (LM Labs)Vancouver, BCAs per the current Public Health Order, full vaccination against COVID-19 is a condition of employment with PHSA as of October 26, 2021.The Coordinator, Laboratory Quality and Process Improvement is responsible for the coordination and support of activities relating to continuous quality improvement. While working on quality-related activities and projects, the Coordinator will access and handle confidential data that relate to audits, performance, competency assessment, critical events follow up and process redesign. The Coordinator is actively involved in planning, development, implementation, conducting and evaluation of diverse projects of varying size and scope, and ongoing related activities, in a complex and changing multidisciplinary environment.What you’ll do

  • Coordinate the execution of quality initiatives within the various components of the laboratory sample path of workflow, ensuring initiatives are completed in an efficient manner and adhere to regulatory and quality system requirements. Include assisting and conducting audits, following established protocols and reporting results to quality and operations leaders.
  • Support identification, collection and analysis of relevant information relating to quality improvement, accreditation, competency assessment, critical events/patient safety events follow up, key performance indicators, and other quality monitoring activities.
  • Assist with the dissemination of information and knowledge related to quality management related initiatives.
  • Collaborate with quality leaders, operations leaders and technical leaders to implement audit findings and recommendations.
  • Provide assistance to new quality improvement related projects and ongoing activities such as document management and quality monitoring; liaising with external partners, assisting with development of tools and administrative duties
What you bring
  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) years recent related experience in medical laboratories, or equivalent work-related experience in medical laboratories.
You will have:
  • Demonstrated skills in team-building and facilitation.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across functional areas and in a matrix organization to achieve common goals.
  • Knowledge in Quality Management, Performance Improvement, Safety and Accreditation standards.
  • Understanding of and practical skills in project coordination/management.
