Company ProfileMinto Explorations Ltd is a Yukon based mining company that operates the Minto copper, gold underground mine. It is located 240 kilometres north of Whitehorse along the Klondike Highway. We have a dynamic fast paced environment with satellite offices in Whitehorse and Calgary.We are looking for people with dynamic skill sets and strong work ethic to be part of our team!PositionWe are looking for (2) full-time Core Logging Geologists for a temporary 6 months contract. The role will be based at the Minto mine, which is a camp-based operation with a two-week on/two-week off rotation.Qualification and Experience: · Minimum 2-3 years of work experience as a core logging geologist;· Minimum bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences;· Eligibility for enrollment as a Professional Geoscientist is required; registered as Geologist in Training or Professional Geologist;· Experience in core logging, geoteching, and sampling of diamond drilling programs;· Solid knowledge of geological settings, deposit models, and ore forming processes;· Solid knowledge of copper deposits, and copper minerals;· Physically fit to perform the duties of the position;· Ability to lift and carry ~ 50lbs core boxes;· Extended periods of time standing throughout the day;· Must possess a valid driver’s licence;· A demonstrated commitment to safety, environment, and community;· Self-motivated and able to perform and communicate effectively within a dynamic and evolving environment;· Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce;· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Primary Responsibilities· Participate in Daily Safety Meetings when onsite and comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental Regulations, Corporate Policies and Procedures;· Drill core logging and sampling;· Ensures best practices for logging, sampling, and QA/QC are followed;· Maintain core logging and sampling database;· Monitor the work and performance of core technicians;· Contribute to exploration work programs and exploration planning;· Maintain a high standard of performance in your duties;· Be an effective communicator in English (verbal and written) at all levels, including keeping your cross-shift and other team members fully always informed· Comply with company standards, as well as Yukon Territory and Canadian federal standards;· Other duties may be assigned from time to time as required by the Company.Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Fly-In/Fly-OutSchedule:
