Our services include working capital, term loans, payment services and international trade facilitation.About the role:Manage wholesale credit approval adjudication and wholesale credit policy implementation, exercising delegated credit authority for specified levels of credit exposure. This position has wholesale credit approval responsibility for one or more of the segments and/or products within Global Banking & Markets and Global Commercial Banking. Ensure appropriate credit lending guidelines are in place and adhered to in order to manage inherent risks in reviewed transactions and ensuring lending complies with established Group and Company policies.Responsibilities:

  • This position has wholesale credit approval responsibility for one or more of the segments and/or products within Global Banking & Markets and Global Commercial Banking. This could include Business Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Corporate Banking, Global Banking, Global Capital Financing, Global Trade and Receivables Financing, Global Payments & Cash Management, Leasing, Project & Export Finance, Asset Based Financing, etc.
  • Review, recommend and approve credit exposures to borrowers within assigned authority, including Overdrafts, Revolving Credit Facilities, Term Loans, Trade Finance limits, Leasing, Treasury / Global Markets facilities, Settlement exposures, etc. , ensuring adherence to requirements for all applicable credit policies.
  • Decisions beyond assigned authority are referred to higher management for approval.
  • Develop, implement, manage and enhance the credit process within assigned areas, ensuring asset quality, superior customer service and compliance with credit policy.
  • Provide necessary credit knowledge and expertise to support expected credit quality for the Company and Group. Coordinate credit data flow from business units and Group for analysis and approval; recommend credit extensions and structure of credit facilities to current and prospective international and domestic customers.
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
  • Participate in special projects to assess credit risks in commercial products and processes.
  • Be part of an effective team through communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC Brand.
  • Work closely with other Risk teams including Sustainability Risk, Credit Policy, Special Credit, Risk Analytics, Traded Credit & Markets Risk, Reputational Risk, as well as other support functions including Compliance, Legal, Operations to manage legal, regulatory, market, reputational, operational and credit and product risk.
  • Ensure all employees are aware of and effectively identify and manage applicable money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF), sanctions and reputational risks.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of ten years proven, progressive and broad-based credit, lending and/or workout experience or equivalent.
  • Bachelors degree in business, finance, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong financial, technical, interpersonal, diplomatic, negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Companys credit policies and legal documentation as it applies to the Bank’s Global Businesses and credit products.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of product development, marketing strategies, operations, legal, sustainability, reputational and regulatory matters as well as existing industry practices.
