Job Summary:In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of PHSA safety, including both patient and employee safety, is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA’s Agencies/Divisions/Services, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.The Clinical Division of BC Clinical and Support Services (BCCSS) includes the Agency for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (Agency) and the Provincial Blood Coordinating Office (PBCO). The Agency has been established to provide oversight and service planning for diagnostic lab services within the province. The Agency has a mandate to ensure that clinical laboratory diagnostics are quality driven, achieve excellent clinical outcomes, and remain sustainable by being provided effectively and efficiently. The PBCO has responsibility to provide and coordinate provincial blood and blood product utilization programs, and to manage specialized provincial resources.Reporting to the Provincial Lead, the Data Analyst is responsible for producing information products for decision support. This includes: formulating the information requests; performing queries and data extraction from relevant databases, checking data quality; analysis and modelling; interpreting the data; preparing reports and visualizations; and presenting the information and findings for administrative and operational decision making. The Analyst is also responsible for checking for data quality throughout the continuum, statistical analysis, and generating routine and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to BCCSS, the Ministry of Health (MoH), care providers in the BC Health Authorities, Canadian Blood Services, and the Public Health Agency of Canada.Duties/Accountabilities:
