As an integral part of the Operations Team, the Despatcher plans, coordinates and dispatches day-to-day labour (ILWU foremen and longshoremen) and equipment requirements to ensure manning is available and staffing is appropriate.The successful applicant must be available to work all shifts in a 24/7 environment and acquire Transport Canada Security Clearance. This is a unionized position and the successful candidate will be required to join ILWU Local 514 as a condition of employment, following the successful completion of a probationary period.For the terms and conditions related to this position, refer to the Collective Agreement between the Companies collectively known as the British Columbia Employers Association and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Ship and Dock Foremen Local 514 (dated April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2023) – Appendix 2 Supplemental Agreement between: DP World (Canada) Inc. and ILWU Local 514.Preference will be given to those with post-secondary education and previous experience in the waterfront industry or a dispatch role.
