Job Description

*Due to high volume of applicants, only those who write a cover letter explaining your interest and experience with pets will be considered*KG Pet Services is one of the premiere dog walking companies in Vancouver for reactive/nervous/anxious/senior dogs, and we are looking to add to our team. Our focus is private walks, for dogs that benefit from that one-on-one touch! We also work with local trainers to follow Force Free/Fear Free training plans and help provide a consistent and positive experience for the dog. We also offer in-home pet sitting for our clients, providing an alternative to kennels and boarding facilities for those dogs that would thrive better in their own home. If you think you know dog body language, and want to learn more about helping dogs thrive in their environment, then this job might be for you!Area we are hiring for: Olympic Village/Mount Pleasant/Little Mountain and Strathcona/Chinatown.Availability: Actual work hours vary depending on client needs, but an availability of Mon-Fri 10am-3pm is needed.Ideal Candidate:

  • Physically able to walk 10-15kms a day.
  • Has access to reliable transit (car, bike, scooter, etc).
  • Has a working knowledge of dog body language and Force Free handling.
  • Comfortable communicating honestly and concisely with managers and clients.
  • Access to a smart phone with a data plan and good camera. We send quality photos after every walk and communicate with clients consistently.
  • Calm under pressure: reactive dogs can go from 0-100 very quickly, and their handlers need to be quick to respond in positive ways.
  • Suitable gear for all weather. This is a year-round job, and we need to be ready for whatever nature throws at us. If the dog will walk in the rain, then so do we!
  • Certified in Pet First Aid (or willing to become certified).
