Positions available are for infant/toddler, preschool, and 3-5-year-old daycare programs. Early Childhood Educators will provide quality and inclusive programming in a group setting supporting children and families.Experience:Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.Knowledge and understanding of cross-cultural issues that impact the Secwepemc First Nation community.Knowledge of the Community Care and Assisted living Act and Child Care Licensing Regulations.Demonstrating understanding of the development of children and their mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.Demonstrating an understanding of inclusivity of children with special needs.Encouraging children’s learning and positive development of their self-concept.Appropriately guiding and supervising children in various settings.Supervising children’s indoor and outdoor activities ensuring required safety standards according to licensing are met.Possessing excellent written and oral skills as well as interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain healthy collaborative working relationships with members of staff, community, and other representatives from various organizations.Education & QualificationsDemonstrated ongoing commitment to attend professional development courses annuallyCompletion of an early childhood education certificate programMust have current first aid and food safe certificatesValid BC ECE certificate will be an asset.Clear criminal record check.Conditions of Employment:A valid Early Childhood Education CertificateCriminal Record ClearanceValid First Aid CertificateAbility to obtain a doctor’s certificate ensuring health is adequate for positionLetters of reference (3)Immunization StatusValid Food Safe certificatePlease submit: Cover Letter, Resume and References to the Neskonlith Indian Band.
