Job Description

External Advert TextJoin a team of forward thinking, enthusiastic, results-driven and collaborative professionals. To support our mission we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Draftsperson to join our team in Vancouver.The role will require but not be limited to:Generating design/drafting deliverables such as single-line diagrams, schematics, terminations, general arrangements, equipment/panel layouts, control system architecture, cable block diagrams, loop diagrams, etc., and ensuring that designs meet agreed quality and budget targets

  • Assuming a Drafting Lead position on assigned projects and leading drafting teams across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Preparing estimates, budgets and schedules for drafting work in an EPC working environment
  • Managing shared drafting work between Perth office and our global engineering offices
  • Managing drafting documentation; including, progress and forecast reports, as required
  • Liaising closely with project leads to ensure all deliverables are produced in accordance with project expectations and Safety in Design requirements
What are we looking forA minimum 10-years’ heavy industry experience, preferably within the mining industry
  • A minimum 5-years’ experience as an Electrical/Instrumentation Drafting Lead with a engineering consultancy; with exposure to tendering, detailed design, construction, commissioning and as-built documentation
  • A Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Design/Engineering and/or related trade experience
  • A sound knowledge of drafting techniques, codes and standards, relevant by-laws and standard industry practices will be highly regarded
  • Experience with major resource companies such as: BHP, Rio Tinto, FMG, Alcoa, etc. will be highly regarded
  • Proficiency with the following CAD software: AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Microstation 2D and 3D, Navisworks and Plant 3D
