Thanks to our reputation and continuous industry involvement, our experienced and dynamic teachers are passionate about providing world class instruction - both theoretical and practical - to our students.Position Summary:Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, the incumbent provides academic leadership for the Gaming Programs: Bachelor of Science in Gaming Production and Visual Gaming Production. The faculty lead must have a deep ownership of all aspects of their program, exemplifying and communicating a strong vision of success to all stakeholders. LCV is committed to providing students with Canada’s best educational experience and the faculty lead must display an unwavering commitment to this goal. The incumbent primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: faculty assignments and management; student scheduling and support; participating in committees; and maintaining the quality and relevance of program curriculum. He/she also participates in activities that promote the stature of the department and LaSalle College Vancouver and abides by the mandates set by the Board of Directors, the President and the College Leadership Team.Key Job Responsibilities:1. ACADEMIC LEADERSHIPA. Studentsa. Improve the student learning experience and provides them with mentorshipb. Promote a culture of positive relations between students as well as among students and facultyc. Manage student related operations such as scheduling, registrations and appealsB. Facultya. Works with Academic Director and CHAO to select, hire, and manage faculty (training, performance … etc.)b. Encourage faculty to collaborate with one another and engage with the greater community2. TEACHINGa. Teach 15 sections each calendar/academic year, as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer3. CURRICULUMWorks with members of the academic team on:a. Providing annual program review and recommend changes for growth and renewalb. Ensuring curriculum is relevant and pedagogically appropriatec. Monitoring and maintaining course materials including: syllabi and course materialsd. Supporting the compliance requirements for regulatory bodies, e.g. PAC4. OPERATIONALa. In conjunction with the CAO, create an annual operating and capital departmental budgetb. Foster and promote inter-departmental collaborations to work toward the vision and mission statementsc. Collaborate with Marketing and Admissions to achieve enrolment successd. Work with the team on cultivating external partnerships (industry, credit transfer related, alumni5. Fulfill expectations as set in the Board approved Strategic Plan6. Participate in College events including Convocation, Portfolio Shows, Open Houses, All School meetings, and other such events as directed by the Dean of Academics7. Serve on College committees as directed by the ChAO8. Oversee or participate in special projects as directed by the ChAO9. Perform other related duties, as assignedKey Relationships:

Job Requirements:Knowledge:
  • Masters’ degree in a Game Design/Development field
  • Minimum of 3 years related and increasingly responsible experience in Academics or industry
  • Advanced certifications or credits towards further study are highly preferred
  • Advising and teaching experience at the post-secondary level
  • Fiscal and personnel management experience
Skills:
