This is a 20-hour per week, part-time paid position starting August 2021 and concluding December 2021.ResponsibilitiesIn this internship, you will focus on developing solutions for photonic integrated circuits design, ranging from component-level multiphysics simulation to circuit-level simulation using photonic compact models.Propose, prototype, and validate new design methodologies and product featuresCreate and streamline simulation workflows for various photonic componentsDevelop photonic compact models and automate the development processEnhance photonic circuit simulations to be more accurate, efficient, and scalableDevelop integration with EDA tools for complete design automation solutionsCollaborate with foundry partners on photonic PDK and reference flow developmentMinimum qualificationsPassion for photonics and simulationPursuing graduate degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field, with a focus on photonicsExperience in integrated photonic components and/or circuits design using foundry processesExperience using Lumerical's tools and/or other photonic simulation toolsProgramming experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar languagesExcellent communication skills in written and spoken EnglishPreferred qualificationsKnowledge of the photonic Industry and ecosystemExperience in photonic compact modelling for use in circuit simulationsExperience in analog/mixed-signal IC design using EDA tools (e.g., Cadence, Mentor)CULTURE AND VALUESCulture and values are incredibly important to Ansys.
