The positions key functions include strategic planning, financial reporting, forecasting, internal control, payroll, accounting, and risk management.The successful candidate is detail-oriented, a numbers all-star, and great at working with others. This is a full-time 1 year, maternity leave coverage position (with the opportunity to continue past maternity contract) starting October 1, reporting to the ownership team at a fun, mission-driven company with a strong family vibe. The position will be a mixture of remote and in-person (at the restaurants or the office) with some meetings at our new office overlooking False Creek!What the Controllers Life at MeeT is Like:

• Establishes and manages financial controls and procedures
• Monitors each stores financial performance and makes recommendations for improvements and cost control
• Prepares and presents financial reports and risk analysis
• Helps guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing accounting policies and procedures
• Carries out cost-benefit analysis on new business ideas
• Participates in developing our managers on financial literacy
• Ensures effective accounts receivables and payables
• Prepares monthly and annual operating budgets and forecasts

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• Minimum 4 years accounting experience in senior accounting and/or financial management
• Accounting designation is an asset
• Restaurant or hospitality industry experience is a major asset
• In-depth knowledge of finance including financial reporting, statements, internal audit, data analysis and payroll systems
• Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and receivable functions and ASPE/GAAP
• Knowledge of provincial and federal regulation on taxes, reporting, regulations, laws
• Ability to work effectively with company leaders and store management teams
• Self-motivated and self-directed
