WHO WE ARENightShift Street Ministries is a not-for-profit organization, committed to reaching out to people struggling on the street with homelessness, poverty, addictions and mental illness. We do this by providing a hot meal, 365 nights a year, clothing and blankets, along with basic nursing, counselling, drop-in programs, referrals, advocacy, access to recovery and housing and more! NightShift is a Christian faith-based ministry dedicated to sharing unconditional love, and helping each other find hope and purpose. Our core values are integrity, humility, perseverance and unity.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORWe are looking for someone to coordinate the activities of NightShift’s special social enterprise, Taste of Heaven (TOH) food truck. As well as overseeing volunteers, your winning ways will have you engaging positively with customers at catering events, along with compassionately connecting with people in need at outreach meals. The schedule requires flexibility, with the ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary. When you’re not busy working on the food truck, you will be able to do a little administration and coordinating work behind the scenes.WHAT YOU WILL NEEDExperience working in a kitchen environment, catering business or food truck is an asset. You have a culinary or cooking background, as this job includes some food prep and basic cooking.Class 5 driver’s licence and experience driving a truck.Previous experience working or volunteering in support of fundraising events is an asset.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.FoodSafe Level 1.Flexible work schedule to accommodate the needs of the business. We thank all applicants for their interest in this position.
