Job Description

Do you have a passion for writing Do you excel at crafting precise language to convey meaningful ideas Are you self-motivated and do you work well under tight deadlinesWe are looking for a seasoned writing professional who can combine research, creativity, emotion, and intelligence to pen precisely worded, thought-provoking personal statements on behalf of our clients. Working closely with an editor and our scholarly advising team, you will be given a treasure trove of reference material in order to create original, factually accurate, and emotionally resonant responses to private school admission prompts.This is a freelance position and work is provided on a commission basis. The faster you are able to generate finely crafted statements, the more work we can commission with you. Youll get paid $100.00 for the first school application, then $50.00 per additional school application. On average, 5 school assignments per student for an average of $300.00 per student.Visit us at www.keyeducation.comContract length: 5 monthsJob Types: Part-time, Temporary, ContractResponsibilities:

  • Write, review, and revise personal and admissions statements for clients.
  • Generate copy that is informed, well-structured, passionate, and captivating
  • Collaborate integrally with KEY personnel to ensure that all written material incorporates the insights of our academic advising team
  • Conduct research into B.C.s private schools as well as both local and international education standards to augment our profiles and reference material.
  • Be available for commissions on a weekly basis beginning in August.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in English, Literature, Creative Writing, Journalism, or related fields, preferably from a Canadian, US, or UK university, or a comparable credential.
  • Prior professional writing experience is required.
  • Familiarity with private school admission and offerings is preferred.

  • Excellent writing, researching, and editing skills.
  • A strong, yet adaptable authorial voice that mixes research with the finest storytelling conventions.
  • Genuine interest in and passion for writing about schools, children, and families.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner who is easy to work with and communicate with.
  • Able to work with tight deadlines and meticulously follow instructions.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
