Job Description

If you share the same sentiment, then this opportunity is for you.Rosewood Hotel Georgia is looking for a Front of House Manager.As a Front of House Manager, you will be reporting into the Director of Rooms, and will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the front office team Front Desk, Concierge, Bell and Door staff, PBX departments work within budgeted guidelines established by the property.Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and ensure compliance with policies, service procedures and Rosewood standards.
  • Cover Manager on Duty shifts as needed
  • Develop and direct all front office staff through ongoing training programs and daily reiteration of procedures.
  • Attend Rosewood Daily Review and ensure that departmental daily reviews are conducted for every shift with the department.
  • Coordinate and monitor all guest requests and amenities with corresponding departments.
  • Communicate with the Managing Director and Director of Rooms and keep them well informed as to problems and action taken.
  • Chair the Rosewood Review Meeting (morning meeting) and address all arrivals, traces, amenities, glitches, etc. Must be fully knowledgeable prior to the meeting. Must be able to speak clearly and command the attention of audience
  • Assist Director of Engineering and Housekeeping Manager with Out of Service / Out of Order rooms and ensure the rooms are out of commission with minimal down time.
  • Achieve maximum revenue each month by maintaining the highest possible average rate. Establish and maintain an effective Upsell Program.
  • Control room rate inventory on sold out nights to maximize occupancy and protect guaranteed reservations. Ability to handle relocation of guests according to established procedures. Ability to maintain close contact with other hotels with regards to their status on sold out nights.
  • Select, interview, hire and train staff according to Rosewood standards.
  • Ensure payroll and purchasing budget is maintained as agreed to in the annual budget review.
  • Review schedules of all departments within the Front Office operations and ensure proper coverage.
  • Attend Guests’ inquiries, requests, complaints, and compliments. Give guests undivided attention and provide the confidence the issue is being addressed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data and strictly enforce within your departments
  • Provide feedback to associates on their performance, coach and manage on issue related to performance, etc. according to hotel standards.
  • Monitor and handle guest feedback and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Model a professional, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with guests associates to reflect the Rosewood Brand Standards.
  • Be a “brand ambassador” at all times and ensure brand integrity and clarity in everyday actions and conducts.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.
Job Requirements:Our Ideal Front of House Manager Candidate will have
  • Minimum of three to five years previous in front office management experience in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Bachelors degree in hospitality, hotel management, business or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work-related experience.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Basic reservations management knowledge, i.e., forecasting, groups and convention bookings. Basic knowledge of budget figures and maintenance of those figures. Interviewing skills to assess potential new hires. Understanding of guest relations and ability to create a “team” atmosphere. Basic math aptitude. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff. Able to read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written) with a focus on guest experience.
  • Ability to exert physical effort in transporting 30 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods.
  • Fluency in written an oral communication in English. Additional language will be an asset.
  • Must be proficient and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Opera Systems.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
