Set in one of the world’s most livable cities, Vancouver is a community-minded district seeking talented educators, progressive leaders, and skilled support staff to enrich the learning experience of Vancouver’s 50,000 students.The Vancouver Board of Education invites applications for the position of:General Office Support – South Hill Education Centre(Office Support B)Location: South Hill Education Centre(6010 Fraser Street)Department: Adult EducationPosition Type: Permanent (0.7143 FTE)Hours of Work: 25 hours per weekSalary: $25.39/hour(+benefits and pension plan)Working Hours for Sept to June:3:45pm to 8:45pm, Monday to Thursday8:30am to 1:00pm, SaturdaysWorking Hours for July & August:25 hours/week, Monday to Thursday(TBA, most likely during the day)In this position, you will:Perform office functions to support the operation of Adult Education.Assist in preparation and verification of Ministry reports (1701, SADE, TRAX, Provincial exam/registration).Prepare daily fee collections sheets and collect book deposits.Perform accurate data entry of student information and registration, student record maintenance.Maintain office records, reports, timetables; record and perform basic bookkeeping tasks.Photocopy materials.May be required to work with SFE system to assist in placement of EOC’s.Answer telephone and act as receptionist to greet the public and provide accurate information, direction and assistance.Type from copy and rough draft a variety of material including correspondence, reports, forms, statements, classroom materials, etc.Perform other work within the job band as assigned.Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 plus up to one (1) year formal training in a business/office program.Minimum of two (2) years of office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge and experience using Outlook, phone systems, and Microsoft Office/365 programs.Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills required.Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.This position will require the candidate complete work with a high degree of accuracy within a busy work environment.Must be able to meet the following assessments: Keyboarding speed (35+ wpm), current Word and Excel (average = +65%), composing correspondence, mail merge and basic business math.Your application profile must include the following documents:Cover LetterResumeContact information for three Professional References (Supervisors only)**Posting is on-going until filled.
