With significant healthcare experience, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting training and overseeing students on their work experience. The HCA Clinical Instructor understands the learning goals and outcomes of Sprott Shaw’s program and aligns the clinical training, policies, and procedures of the facility to strengthen the chain of care in facilities.

  • Location: Squamish, BC
  • Employment Type: Contract, Part-time
  • Start Date: November 8th
  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and mentor students, providing feedback during daily pre-and post-care conferences
  • Develop and evaluate strategies for accomplishing clinical goals and outcomes
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality in dealing with clients/patients, students, peers, and supervisors
  • Identify resources that can contribute to problem-solving
  • Set a professional example for students to follow
  • Always remain on-site, keeping students and facility staff informed of whereabouts
  • Recognize and respond before situations become critical
  • Use empathy and respect when dealing with students, peers, and supervisors
  • Distribute and explain clinical packages (learning objectives, learning goals, assignments, etc.)
  • Provide site orientations to students
  • Provide clear and concise documentation files
  • Prepare and review evaluations with students
  • Ensure that all evaluations and documentation are completed and submitted to the campus
Qualifications and Education
  • Current practicing license as an LPN, NP, RN, or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Two (2) years of recent, relevant practice experience
