Job Description

HR & Payroll Assistant supports the effective delivery of bi-weekly payroll for over 500 staff through ownership of a range of administrative functions, analysis and reconciliation. This role also contributes to the successful management of our benefits program and has the opportunity to participate in HR functions and projects. This role is ideally suited for candidates looking to grow experience in the Payroll, Benefits and HR space, working on a variety of tasks in a supportive team environment where extensive training is provided.FirstService Residential BC is an established, industry-leader driven by our core values and committed to excellent customer service for the communities we support.   • With support and mentorship from the Payroll Administrator, ensures accurate and timely submission of timecards for bi-weekly payroll submission,
  • Maintains up-to-date payroll documentation for all incoming, current and departing employees, including leave administration
  • Generates payroll-related reports, allocations, reconciliations, analysis and journal entries
  • Assisting with regulatory and WorkSafeBC filings
  • Responding to payroll and benefits related questions from associates in a timely manner.
Benefits-specific responsibilities:
  • Ensuring accurate enrolment in company benefit plans by promptly processing new members, terminations and status changes
  • Complete monthly benefits reconciliation and ad-hoc analysis
HR-specific duties:
  • Assist in the recruitment process by completing candidate documentation, reference checking, managing the active recruitment and referral lists and processes.
  • Assisting with HR documentation and projects
Experience: The ideal candidate brings one year of experience in a Payroll or HR support role, ideally using ADP Vantage or ADP Workforce Now. Educational credentials in the HR, Payroll or Business Administration field are preferred.This proactive, organized individual has strong attention to detail, proven data entry skills and is comfortable in Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel. This is the ideal role for someone seeking to grow their experience in a varied, interesting role that works across Payroll, Benefits and HR in collaboration with a supportive team.
