As Canadas fastest-growing hospitality group, we believe the foundation of our continued success is our people and taking great care of our guestsWho We Are HiringAs the Immigration Compliance & Recruitment Manager, your goal is to improve our labour forecasting with the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) program by preparing all the necessary and required documentation for the various Government of Canada departments. You will oversee and maintain the immigration process for our TFW program. You are responsible for managing the flow of people into and out of the country. You will also oversee and maintain immigration records, documents and ensuring compliance and accuracy of data. You will have a deep knowledge of immigration streams and understanding of their requirements. The Immigration Compliance & Recruitment Manager will be responsible for equipping candidates with relevant information and resources, supervising the completion of documentation, and submitting data on behalf of individuals, as required. You may also be tasked with handling issues related to Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications, work visas, permanent residency applications, and overall support to our existing TFWs. We ask you to exhibit diligence, particularly when completing and submitting requisite paperwork and keeping up-to-date with alterations to immigration laws.ObjectiveDemonstrate the knowledge of public service (Government of Canada), private and legality. This will be able to exceed the following needs of applying, following up and acquitting the necessary documentation to hire foreign nationals:

  • Need #1: Recruitment of skilled positions for our various brands from within Canada.
  • Need #2: Preparation and submission of application(s) to Employment and Social Development Canada for Labour Market Impact Assessment(s) to be able to recruit and hire foreign nationals for the skilled positions that were not able to be filled by local residents.
  • Need #3: Recruitment of skilled positions for the Northland Properties brands from various countries such as but not limited to; New Zealand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, India, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Jamaica and etc.
  • Need #4: Preparation and submission of application(s) to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada at various Consulates or Embassies throughout the world.
Responsibilities
  • Initiate job postings for a minimum of 30 days up to 120 days or till the vacant positions are filled
  • Apply for Labour Market Impact Assessment(s) applications from start to finish, including recruitment efforts, company documentation and job offers
  • Apply to Immigration for the selected candidates Work Permit application
  • Train our leaders on the importance of TFW pay and working hours
  • Develop policies and procedures around the compliance of the TFW program at Northland
  • Evaluate the talent landscape and develop recruitment strategies to attract top talent from other countries
  • Keep up with work visa records and managing key dates of employee permits
  • Meet with prospective and extant employees to gauge which services they require
  • Provide employees with all pertinent documentation
  • Assist employees with the completion of paperwork and ensuring that its submitted on time
  • Verify the authenticity of paperwork and supporting documents
  • Keep up-to-date with immigration laws
  • Perform other duties as required
Who You Are
  • Bachelors Degree (preference in Human Resource Management, International Relations or International Law)
  • 5+ years of experience as an immigration consultant, preferably with expertise in relocating individuals to more than one country.
  • Outstanding verbal communication
  • Capacity to support employees and their immigration concerns
  • Experience with multi-vendor operations and large hiring needs
  • Strict observance of all applicable deadlines
  • Solution-oriented approach to fulfilling duties
  • A proactive planner and negotiator that possess strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Second language is an asset
