The Team’s work focuses on supporting clients and problem solving to find efficient solutions. This involves assisting Technical Support Analysts and finding effective ways to automate tasks. As an Information Technology Co-op, you will have the opportunity to learn and work with a skilled and supportive team in an exciting work environment.About UsTechnical Safety BC is an independent, self-funded organization mandated to oversee the safe installation and operation of technical systems and equipment. In addition to issuing permits, licenses and certificates, we work with industry and government to reduce safety risks through assessment, education and outreach, enforcement, and research.About The RoleThe Information Technology Co-op will support Technical Support Analysts and assist with optimizing systems and applications. There will be a concentration on creating and providing managers with usage reports and delivering user support to various clients. The successful candidate will also have solid communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills to understand and resolve user issues.Requirements:Currently enrolled in diploma or degree program in computer scienceStrong interpersonal skills and ability to troubleshoot problemsAbility to create, run and provide usage reportsAbility to apply priority levels to incoming requestsAbility to translate technical terms into non-technical languageAbility to learn new processes and proceduresKnowledge of optimizing systems/applicationsKnowledge of provisioning/automationKnowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Visio, OutlookKnowledge of current Microsoft Operating SystemsKnowledge of networkingKnowledge of scripting and programming (Perl, Bash, PowerShell)Familiarity of various hardware (Raspberry PI, Mac, tablets, laptops)Please apply online directly or go to technicalsafetybc.ca/careers under 'See Job Postings' to access our job board.
