JOB DESCRIPTION – IT Support AssistantWe are proud to offer services on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), sq̓əc̓iy̓aɁɬ təməxʷ (Katzie) and Kwantlen First Nations.Location: Vancouver & Lower MainlandReports to: IT ManagerStatus: 1 Part Time Temporary, up to 28 hours/week, September – December 2022Does This Sound Like You

Opportunity:The IT Support Assistant is responsible for timely and effective resolutions to end-user productivity issues as they relate to IT-serviced computer operations. This will be accomplished by performing question/problem diagnoses, guiding users through to issue resolution, communicating technical solutions in user-friendly language and conducting end-user training where necessary. IT Support is also responsible for recording problems/solutions within the IT call-tracking system. An ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and organized, with a passionate to help strengthen the communities we serve.Job Responsibilities Include:Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Support Assistant will be responsible for the following functions:
  • Carry-out 0365 Administration Tasks (Manage Microsoft Office 365 Admin Center, Maintain User Management, Add Shared Contacts, Add Shared Mailboxes. Manage Services & Add-ins. Set Up a Strong Password Policy and other tasks related to 0365 administration).
  • Carry-out support to staff using the organization’s client and information management system.
  • Resolve end-user IT issues, such as password reset, software questions, PC hardware problems, Internet connectivity, configurations, and so on.
  • Provide one-on-one end-user support and problem resolution via telephone, e-mail, and other vehicles of communication.
  • Diagnose and resolve minor network issues (e.g., LAN access).
  • Assist in troubleshooting software, hardware, and network issues.
  • Conduct timely repair of IT equipment covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements.
  • Empower employees to find the tools to find IT solutions.
  • Provide training to employees, teaching basic IT skills.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all repair records, reports, and other documents as required.
  • Always maintain a high degree of professionalism, courteousness, and friendliness.
  • Complete assigned projects.
  • Conduct other duties as required.
What you Bring to WFC:
  • Full or part time student enrolled in an accredited Canadian college or university, pursuing a degree in a field related to information technology or computer science (i.e., Computer and Information Technology). Relevant experience in Computer and Information Technology (computer troubleshooting, maintenance and development, support) and Networking and Security (support, remote access through VPN, email and case management security, policy writing, deployment of workstations).
  • Must be enrolled in a Co-op.
  • Must hold one of the following: Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency or refugee status.
  • Experience in an IT support capacity.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Skills You Bring:
  • Ability to diagnose problems, perform repairs on IT assets, and provide support for a wide range of applications.
  • Experience with hardware.
  • Experience with software (0365 administration).
  • Positive, professional demeanor. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities, superior attention to detail and deadline oriented.
  • Strong writing/editing and oral/interpersonal communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record and use of own vehicle.
