We are looking for a temporary Junior Recruiter to support the recruitment and selection process for our high volumes competitions (regular full time, regular part time, temporary and auxiliary positions), in accordance with defined recruitment guidelines and policies. The Junior Recruiter is responsible for support hiring practices that are fair, equitable and welcoming of all applicants, and that provide equal employment opportunity to all qualified employees and applicants.The Junior Recruiter works closely with the Hiring Manager to develop a recruitment strategy/action plan summarizing selection criteria, process steps and timeline for primarily for high volume recruitment. The Junior Recruiter is responsible for all steps and coordination of the recruitment process from the job posting through the interview, selection and offer stage. This includes advising hiring managers about selection clauses in collective agreements and consulting or including department HRCs or HRAs when required.The ideal candidate has a

  • Certificate or Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • Minimum 2 years in a recruitment capacity, preferably within a large complex unionized environment hiring large volumes of candidates
  • Excellent relationship builder, able to managing sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize, work under pressure with constant interruptions
Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work remotely 1 – 4 days a week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.The City of Vancouver has a COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy.
