Overview:WildBrain is looking for Lead Animators to join our Vancouver studio for new Peanuts Specials! This is a slate of brand-new specials that will find the Peanuts gang marking Mother’s Day, Earth Day, New Year’s Eve and Back to School. These specials will honour the much loved past Peanuts Specials but will be pushing the creative boundaries of what 2D Harmony animation can do!If you want to have fun and need some more Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang in your life, have we got the role for you! We’d love to hear from you! #stayhomestaysafe!Responsibilities:Provide one on one support, feedback and mentorship to Animators, ensuring that they are able to achieve the desired look and standards of the projectProvide support to the Animation Supervisor(s), occasionally assisting with assigning tasks and approving shotsWork on the box to set up and animate complex shotsCollaborate with Animators and Supervisors to identify and solve problems, both technically and artisticallyTraining animators on best practices of ToonBoom HarmonyQualifications:Substantial experience working within a 2D animation production environmentStrong technical knowledge and abilities in HarmonyDemonstration of traditional animation principles; with an emphasis on timing, spacing, staging, strong storytelling poses and the ability to stay on modelUnderstanding of acting and emotion in animationStrong time management and understanding of shifting prioritiesDemonstrated ability to produce high quality feature level animationDemonstrated creative problem-solving skillsBonus:Experience with traditional hand-drawn animationExperience working as a Lead Animator for a complete production cycleWhy WildBrainAt WildBrain Studios our teams dig into a diverse range of projects – from preschool and comedy to action-adventure, and work with international partners such as Apple, Netflix, LEGO, DreamWorks, BBC, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and more.
