Job Description

Lead UI/UX ArtistThe Coalition is a Microsoft first-party development studio located in Vancouver, Canada. We are the official home of the Gears of War franchise, and our objective is to forge the future of the IP and push the limits of Microsoft’s entertainment platforms and devices. Join us and let’s go far together!We are looking for a skilled digital artist to join our team as a UX and UI Art lead on our future game titles. You will lead the team of UX designers and UI artists to collaborate with and direct the vision for the UI, as well as work closely with the UI Engineers to follow that vision through to completion.Responsibilities

  • Define UX and UI solutions to meet the business needs of the projects
  • Lead the team of UX and UI designers to guide the vision of the UI experience for the products
  • Present and articulate design solutions to peers and executive-level stakeholders
  • Provide actionable feedback to the team
  • Create and maintain documentation and processes including UX flows, UI mockups, motion studies and style guides
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems and provide solutions
  • Work collaboratively with Production Leads to provide estimates and timelines
  • Accountable for meeting UI team project timelines
Qualifications
  • 5+ years working in the game industry, specializing in Interface Design or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects
  • Adept graphic design skills working with layout, typography, and motion design
  • Effective communication skills to apply with UX Designers, UI Artists and Engineers
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4/5, Unity or other 3D software packages a plus
  • An interest in collaborating in an open team environment
  • Ability to give constructive feedback to the design team and to act on feedback from stakeholders
  • Experience with creative and effective problem solving
  • Self-motivated with considerable attention to detail
  • An interest staying current on industry trends
  • BSc degree or equivalent experience/education
