Job Description

Miles HR has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant who brings two years recent experience in civil litigation to this progressive downtown Vancouver Law Firm.A key element of this role is being proficient in both Mandarin and English.This full time permanent role provides an excellent compensation and benefits package for the successful candidate.Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain digital files in accordance with firm policy and practice
  • Liaise with clients on file progress
  • Schedule discovery and court dates
  • Maintain calendars and reminder system for tasks and appointments
  • Prepare court materials such as application records, books of authorities, and various trial and appeal books
  • Draft routine correspondence and attend to court filings
  • General administrative duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Solid understanding of civil litigation procedures
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including composing, editing and proofreading, in Mandarin and English
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision and thrive in a professional team environment
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs
