We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our Maintenance & Engineering department at our chocolate factory in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will be instrumental in planning and scheduling all maintenance activities in both production facilities. Our chocolates are produced at our production facility on Kingsway Street, and we have a second production facility on Chester Street in Vancouver.The Maintenance Supervisor will work in collaboration with the production planning team to determine the availability of assets for service and repair needs. This individual will also liaise with vendors, suppliers, and general contractors. The successful candidate should understand how a maintenance department functions, and ideally a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Planning and scheduling all maintenance activities associated with the factory and equipment • Collaborate with the production planning team to determine availability of assets to provide maintenance a cohesive plan week to week for service and repair needs • Maintain the preventative maintenance program and ensure documents are up to date - this includes long range planning for planned shutdowns • Print and distribute work orders to maintenance staff and ensure all work orders are closed in a timely manner • Follow up with maintenance staff on work performed and parts issues • Collect CMMS data to provide performance metrics such as PM and WO compliance • Ability to change plans at short notice due to production demand or constraints • Develop relationships with suppliers, vendors and general contracts; contact suppliers to obtain quotes • Work with the purchasing department for purchase order requests; coordinate and monitor purchase orders and ensure purchase orders are placed in a timely manner to suppliers and vendors • Other administrative duties as assigned The successful candidate should have: • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Coordinator • Experience using and maintaining a CMMS program • EMaint experience is an asset • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components • Experience working in the food manufacturing industry is an asset Purdys Chocolatier recognizes the value of skills and knowledge gained outside of formal education and paid employment.Applicants who present an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
