The position is responsible for providing expert-level Building Automation System technical knowledge to projects and system/business owners who are designing new Building Automation Systems and configuring existing systems to increase energy and operational efficiency. This includes the creation of City-wide control system architecture designs and planning that is required to meet system capacity, operational and failure recovery needs. The position requires a detailed knowledge of features and limitations of Building Automation Systems to assess business and technical impacts of proposed system changes, including technical leadership in feasibility, design and implementation of enterprise applications. A high-level of independent judgement is required to plan, implement, troubleshoot, and remediate issues in complex infrastructure environments where errors will have significant operational and financial impacts.This position reports to the Mechanical Superintendent, but is to be responsive to the Manager of Energy & Utilities in the development and implementation of energy conservation initiatives. The position works closely with other specialists, technical staff, project managers, and other business customers across the City. Additionally coordinates activities with technical staff in project organization as well as with external contractors. The position also works with external technical consultants, divisions of IT and maintains close contacts with the external control technology industry.Specific Duties/ResponsibilitiesTechnical Operations:
