Job Description

With a national office in Toronto and seven regional offices across the country, NCC delivers results you can walk on.Position SummaryThis position plays an important role in the Gift Administration team and is accountable for the timely and accurate processing of revenue from Major Gifts sources. The successful candidate will work closely with Treasury, Corporate Finance, Marketing & Development and Regional staff in developing efficient and effective processes that are critical for delivery of NCC’s mission.Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for data entry, gift processing and receipting of all Major Gifts revenue nationally, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and appropriate documentation for financial reporting, CRA compliance and support of Marketing & Development teams across the country.
  • Ensures revenue forms are accurately entered and necessary supporting documents related to restrictions are in place
  • Records and issues accurate receipts of non-cash donations (Land and Conservation Agreement donation, Gift In Kind, and Stock donations)
  • Records all gifts from Donor Advised Fund Charities, Benevity portal and any other portals developed for Regional revenue or Major Gifts.
  • Prepares daily reconciliations of revenue in Raisers Edge with banking information, resolving discrepancies as required
  • Ensures compliance with external and internal policy requirements related to gift receipting and tracking
  • Processes, records, and issues tax receipts for various other NCC entities (CNQ, AFCN)
  • Prepares donation information from Raisers Edge for annual T3010 Charity Returns
  • Supports annual and other audit preparation
  • Updates procedure manuals as required
  • Conducts training of other staff and oversees volunteers or temporary staff as required
  • Supports the CFO, Director, and Manager with regular reporting and ad hoc assignments to support the success of the department
Qualifications
  • University degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of data and gift entry experience
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in non-profit sector
  • BCRE (Blackbaud Certification in Raiser’s Edge) would be an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of Raiser’s Edge Accurate and efficient data entry skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products Excellent mathematical aptitude
  • Proven knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency’s requirements especially on receipting Strong people and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with fundraising and accounting practices and procedures
  • Well organized and detail oriented, with the ability to prepare and manage timelines, goals and expectations wisely
