Leading a dedicated team, including the Accounts Payable Supervisor and Senior Clerks, you #39;ll oversee systems and processes that ensure timely payments, strong financial controls, and the safeguarding of CLBC #39;s assets.   • Oversees the disbursement process and ensures and timeliness of payments
  • Ensures documentation are in compliance with applicable policies, and procedures
  • Maintains relationship and provides high level of customer service with internal and external stakeholders
  • Resolves banking issues/concerns relating to payments to suppliers
  • Maintains integrity of supplier information
  • Manages, leads, mentors, and directs support staff, including hiring, and staff evaluations
  • Establishes, maintains, and improve process and procedures that will ensure that financial reports are timely, accurate, consistent and meet the requirements of the Authority, the shareholder, the Office of the Comptroller General (OCG) and government
  • Prepares audit working papers for the annual external audit, and provides assistance to the auditor as required
This role requires:
  • Broad knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial, administrative and contract management, audit and program evaluation principles and practices
  • Demonstrated ability for planning, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting expertise
  • Comprehensive technical expertise, process management, analytical skills, and business acumen
  • Advanced technical computer skills in spreadsheet and database usage
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and evaluation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems strategically and creatively within a dynamic and changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, integrity, and patience
Qualifications:
  • CPA professional accounting designation or a member in good standing of an accounting body outside Canada that effectively has a mutual recognition agreement OR a Master of Business Administration degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated current experience reviewing and analysing multi-faceted policy and/or program/funding issues, assessing options, and developing related information reports
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with internal stakeholders
  • Experience in developing and managing project budgets and expenditures
  • Experience in managing people and evaluating the work of others
  • An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered
