Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Manager of Community Development Programs is responsible for the oversight of seven YWCA Community Development Programs across Metro Vancouver, and for the supervision of the Community Development Coordinators at each site.Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the consistent delivery of Community Development Programs in YWCA housing sites
  • Responsible for the hiring and supervision of Community Development Coordinators, including bi-weekly one to one meetings
  • Conduct regular onsite visits to each Community Development Programs
  • Facilitate monthly meetings of the Community Development Program Team
  • Work collaboratively with the Housing Services Team
  • Create and monitor the Community Development Program budgets
  • Work with the Community Development Coordinators to complete Balanced Scorecards
  • Work with the Community Development Coordinators to complete annual program inventories
  • Fill in for Community Development Coordinators during their vacations
  • Community networking, attend meetings and workshops as needed
  • Public speaking on issues impacting single mothers
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Able to articulate community development principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Group facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Some supervision experience
  • Some experience managing budgets
  • Appropriate boundaries
  • A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Outlook, Share Point, One Drive, Relias Training, ADP Workforce Now and/or Safetyline an asset; and
  • Successful applicants are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, exemption requests must be supported by valid, legal documents.
