Job Description

MANAGER – Public Company AssuranceSmythe LLP is seeking an experienced and well-rounded Manager to join our public company assurance group, based in downtown Vancouver. As a member of the Assurance Group, you will work directly with clients and Partners to deliver assurance and assurance related services. In this role, you will act as a key business contact working with clients to achieve their business goals and meet their continuous disclosure requirements.As a key member of our management team, you will actively contribute to your success and that of the Firm by leading and coaching your engagement teams to deliver exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a demonstrated ability to influence and execute.Our FirmSmythe LLP is a leading professional services firm with offices in Vancouver, Langley and Nanaimo.   • Lead and manage accounting, assurance and advisory engagements for publicly-listed clients
  • Review financial statements and accompanying notes
  • Plan and lead teams, ensuring expectations are set and clearly communicated
  • Promote firm expertise and services
  • Build and strengthen client relationships
  • Drive the attainment of team objectives
  • Actively participate in the training and development of staff
  • Promote a culture of progressiveness, flexibility and inclusiveness
What you need to know
  • CPA, CA designated with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within public practice. At least one year as a manager specializing in publicly listed companies is required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and monitor multiple complex projects
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Direct client service experience combined with a solid knowledge of business development
  • Strong coaching and people development skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful connections with colleagues and clients, based on trust and respect
  • A desire to learn and adapt in a challenging environment.
You will need to plan on
  • Attend your primary office location at least two set core days a week and additional days as needed for the role
  • Occasional extra hours and attendance at events outside the regular work week
  • Be able to lift up to 25 lbs
