OVERVIEWBard on the Beach is WesternCanada’s largest professional Shakespeare festival, with a focus on providingaccessible, inclusive, and vibrant theatrical works to the public. The Festivalpresents Shakespeare plays, related dramas and special events from June toSeptember in two modern theatre tents, in the magnificent waterfront setting of Sen̓ákw/Vanier Park. BardEducation also offers online content and programs throughout the year. Fulldetails here.position summary – YOUR ROLE AT BARDAs Marketing Coordinator, you will be part of a teamof arts marketing professionals in a fast-paced and creative environment. Youwill be responsible for coordination and production of select print &digital materials; the line management of the Festival’s social media channels,negotiating and maintaining B2B marketing partnerships with a focus on thetourism & arts sector; coordinating the department’s tracking documents& processes; and managing and sometimes creating digital assets. You’ll also be part of anenergetic, collaborative and open-hearted Bard staff team that is deeply committed to upholdingand advancing Bard’s Company Commitments.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPYou’ll report tothe Director of Marketing and Communications. No direct reports.Duties and Responsibilities1.SocialmediaTeam leader for creating and coordinatingcontent and messaging for the Festival’s social media channels; managing aregular social publishing schedule; monitoring channel traffic to engage withfollowers, identify issues and leverage engagement opportunities2.Productionand distribution of Marketing collateral and digital content

Coordinating the design process and productionof select Festival promotional materials, working with staff, graphic designers& printers
Organizing the distribution of Festival promotionalmaterials, with a special focus on tourism, hospitality & community promochannels3.Business-to-businesspartnerships & community outreach
Sourcing and supporting Marketing andcross-Departmental partnerships and B2B relationships with a primary focus on thetourism, hospitality and arts sectors; coordinating external displays andpromotional events as assigned
Coordinating the sponsor-supported CommunityAccess ticket donation program; identifying and activating partnerships withcommunity groups to support Bard’s accessibility, diversity and inclusion (EDI)goals4.Departmentalsupport & coordination
You’ll be the lead for coordinating regular& project timelines and trackers for the full Marketing team, supportingour team’s effectiveness and cohesive work practices5.Videography& photography
Coordinating the Festival’s photo, video andimage file collections
Creating, editing and formatting digital imagesand graphics (shared responsibility with Marketing Manager)
Coordinating and occasionally shooting videofootage of select Festival events and activities for various promotional use; editingvideos segments – experience using Adobe Premiere is preferredHOURS AND WORK LOCATIONFull time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional evening or weekend assignmentsThe position allows for a hybrid (remote and in-person) work schedule, to be negotiated with the Director of Marketing and Communications in accordance with Bard’s HR policies. Bard’s administrative offices are at 162 West 1st Avenue in Vancouver.Job Requirements/Qualifications:YOU’LLBE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU HAVE
  • 2+consecutive years of arts marketing experience at a comparable level,preferably with performing arts organization/s in Vancouver
  • Anundergraduate degree or certification in Marketing, Communications, EnglishLiterature, Journalism or other related field of study; work experiencethat parallels that training will be considered
  • Demonstratedexperience and proficiency in managing social media channels – bothstrategy and activation
  • Successfultrack record in coordinating projects and working with teams in fast-pacedenvironments; coordinating print publication projects is an asset
  • Confident, clear and persuasive communicator in speech; demonstratedskill in writing for public and business-to-business communications
  • Self-motivatedand entrepreneurial; delivering on assignments with strong time managementskills
  • Highly organizedand detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to maintain records andcreate and monitor project timelines
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office applications and image management software (minimum:Photoshop); video editing and shooting experience is an asset
  • Demonstratedinterest in the performing arts (ideally theatre); some familiarity withShakespeare’s works is an asset
  • ValidBC driver’s license is an asset
  • A demonstrated commitment to inclusion, with experiencein fostering a sense of belonging for a diverse spectrum of individuals
  • Salary/Wage: 41,000 annually - negotiable based on experience
