Location: Burnaby, BC; Onsite/offsite; consultant to reside in the GVA.Start Date: ASAP (or within two weeks’ notice).Duration: Six (6) months initial contract; extendible for up to another (18) months.Project / Position Summary: We are seeking Two (2) Intermediate Network Technical Analysts to support and work on projects to upgrade network equipment in acute hospital communication rooms within the Lower Mainland. The network analysts will be involve in a wide range of IT infrastructure projects for the Health Authorities of British Columbia.Responsibilities / Deliverables: The Network Technical Analysts responsibilities/deliverables may include, but may not be limited to:a. Replace core and edge switches. (Migration of settings from legacy to new, etc.)b. Configure routing, firewall and NAT policies on internet firewalls.c. Coordinate with vendor to replace a legacy Metro circuit with a new CE circuit.d. Support the vendor pre-field, staging, and implementation activities for circuit replacement.e. Coordinate vendor decommissioning of legacy metro circuit.f. Site preparation for installation(s).g. Provide support with additional hardware components related to the work above.h. Physical labour related to the work above.i. Provide network implementation / production cutover services outside of normal business hours, as required.Experience / Skills Requirements: The Network Technical Analysts should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a university degree or technical diploma in a program such as communications technology plus appropriate vendor network certification;Four (4) years of recent data networking experience.Three (3) years of demonstrated experience with network equipment implementation / planning, site assessments, application of network standards and network issue problem-solving / troubleshooting.Ability to replace core switches. (Migration of settings from legacy to new, etc.)Ability to replace edge switches. (Migration of settings from legacy to new, etc.)6.
