Set in one of the world’s most livable cities, Vancouver is a community-minded district seeking talented educators, progressive leaders, and skilled support staff to enrich the learning experience of Vancouver’s 50,000 students.The Vancouver Board of Education welcomes applications for the position of:Network Infrastructure Support (Information Technology Support D)Department: Learning Information Technology (LIT)Location: VSB Education Centre - 1580 West Broadway(Position is 100% in-person/in-office)Position Type: PermanentHours of work: 7 hours/dayBase Salary: $72,199.40+ extensive benefits package & municipal pensionpre-approved OT paid as double-time ($79.34/hour)In this role, you will:Design, implement, configure, and support the network, cloud, server and security infrastructure of the districtAdminister, configure, and install infrastructure devices and virtual appliancesEstablish standards and procedures and writes specifications, scripts and documentation for technical architecture and systemsPrepare and execute detailed plans for complex multi-functional projectsResearch and analyze emerging trends in technology and systems architecture, evaluate alternatives and make recommendationsProvide support, direction and apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to address escalated issuesDevelop and deliver training workshops for technical and end user audiencesLiaise with stakeholders, LIT teams, vendors, contractors and other third parties as required to support district servicesPrepare maintenance and communication plans for district services to ensure they remain fit for purposePerform information technology support to the DivisionPerform other related duties as requiredQualifications:Completion of grade 12 plus more than 2 years of full-time equivalent post-secondary training in a relevant technology disciplineMinimum of 6 years of progressive experience in information technologyExperience working in a K-12 education organization an assetAdvanced skills in designing and configuring network, cloud, server infrastructure, and security best practicesAbility to analyze, prepare and distribute information in multiple formats to a diverseaudience with a variety of technical experience levelsExperience with wired and wireless networking, security, VoIP technologies, virtual environments, virus protection, O365 & Azure and other various software applicationsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience in designing/delivering presentationsMust be able to meet the following assessment: Hands-on 1hour series of tasks/problems (70%+)Your application must include:Cover letterResumeContact information for three supervisor references (phone numbers and email addresses)**This posting is ongoing until filled.
