Job Description

Non-Brokered Private Placement Specialist

Job SummaryAs a Non-Brokered Private Placement Specialist, you will perform a variety of functions to support Raymond James’ Financial Advisors, including working with the Head of PCS NBPP Group to manage the business development of the RJL Non-Brokered Private Placement (NBPP) Program. You will work closely with our Advisors/Portfolio Managers to provide ongoing administrative, analytical and research support for the business unit. Drawing on previous experience, the ideal candidate will have a proven ability to take initiative, will possess exceptional communication and research skills and will demonstrate academic excellence.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the NBPP mailbox for new requests, change requests and general inquiries;
  • Assist with the gathering of NBPP materials and information from the FAs and their assistants;
  • Review NBPP documentation to ensure policies and minimum criteria are satisfied;
  • Manage NBPP files, which will include maintaining detailed records of each request, handling inquires, providing status updates and conducting preliminary assessments as required;
  • Research and analyze financial statements, interpret findings, and prepare due diligence reports;
  • Provide the FA(s) and their assistants with review comments based on your analysis;
  • Respond to FA enquiries relating to NBPP procedures and timing of the NBPP transactions;
  • Assist with NBPP transaction reporting obligations;
  • On occasion, assist with the researching and gathering of due diligence material as it relates to other transaction types;
  • Use superior analytical and problem solving skills to make sound decisions;
  • Develop strong relationships with our advisory channel, demonstrate a high level of client service; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of
  • Private placement concepts, practices and procedures;
  • Principles of finance and the capital markets;
  • Finance and/or accounting principles and procedures;
  • Programming languages such as Java, Python, VBA, etc. and experience in using them;
  • Excel, Word and Power Point at an advanced level; and
  • Financial softwares including Factset, Morningstar, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, etc. and experience in using them.
Skill in
  • Microsoft Office with a willingness and ability to learn new applications;
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Researching, interpreting and analyzing financial data;
  • Quantitative and analytical processes; and
  • Strong interpersonal skill with a proven ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to
  • Work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and an imperative attention to detail;
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Can manipulate large data sets and communicate key findings;
  • Thinks logically, critically and quickly; and
  • Can distill difficult concepts into easy-to-understand language.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
  • An undergraduate/postgraduate degree in Business, Economics, or Engineering; and
  • Prior experience in a research role is considered an asset.
