Job Description

Victoria Pulse Trading Corp. trades and exports Canadian origin pulses globally. Canada is only of largest pulse producing regions in the world. The head office is located in Vancouver, BC and the pulse processing facility is located in Francis, SK. This position is a great opportunity to be involved in Agriculture, food systems and global supply chain.We are currently seeking an Operations Executive who can be the liaison between the head-office and processing plant to ensure orders and shipments are executed in a timely manner and further exported to destination. Candidate must be open to acquiring new knowledge and skills.The following are responsibilities that are affiliated with this position:

  • Managing the timely execution of all orders
  • Communicating market trends and spot rates to Traders on an hourly/daily basis.
  • Recommending optimal transportation routes to Traders.
  • Collaborating with Traders to resolve challenges in the the container supply-chain
  • Identifying inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities to support improvement initiatives
  • Working with traders and plant manager to ensure outgoing shipments are executed in a timely manner and corresponding information is communicated to buyers on-time
  • Work closely with logistics coordinator to ensure freight rates and received and documents are prepared on time.
  • Preparing and updating reports and other logistics-related documentation.
  • Creating KPIs for monitor operations efficiency
  • Adhering to management guidelines and moving late loads on time.
  • Ensuring compliance with import/export/customs regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Coordinating inventory counts of stocks
  • Working closely with the CEO and reporting live of daily activities in logistics and order execution
  • Participate in meetings and prepare minutes
  • Prepare weekly reports, communicating crucial information regarding timelines, shortage/overages and other key occurrences to the sales and marketing team
  • Assist with month-end and year-end physical count processes, ensure all inventory is accurate and up to date and adjusted accordingly where needed
  • Continue to seek effective and efficient ways to improve day to day operational objectives
