We're a small, organic, environmentally-focused landscape gardening company based in East Vancouver looking for an experienced landscape gardener. This is a growing company and we're looking for the right motivated person to come along on the journey.We use battery-powered maintenance equipment to promote a cleaner, more peaceful landscaping experience for staff and customers.A positive attitude is a must. The most important things are to be communicative, self-directive, use good judgement, and have strong interpersonal skills because you will be working with other staff and interacting with clients on a regular basis.Job Type: Full-timeRequired experience:*2 years of professional landscaping minimum*Excellent communication and time management skills*Good judgment, organization and problem-solving skills* Ability to work in a fast paced environment* Good physical stamina and an ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift* Ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials*Ability to follow verbal and written instructions*Basic hardscaping skills such as patio paver installation, natural stone path and patio installation, and wood or stone retaining wall installation are an asset*Decent plant knowledge and a keen interest in organic landscape gardening is necessary*A driver's license is requiredResponsibilities and DutiesWe do a lot of different things so there's quite a bit of variety to our days. Sometimes we're weeding or mulching, other times we're doing garden installations or renovations. We also do residential scale pressure washing, a bit of hardscape like residential stone paths and patios, and installing retaining walls and paving stones, so competence in these areas is important.Decent strength and physical fitness is also important given the nature of the work.We support and encourage workplace diversity through our hiring practices and workplace culture.
