Job Description

DESCRIPTIONWe are currently seeking a Paralegal to join our Business Law department. The successful candidate will join our Vancouver Due Diligence Team, which provides specialized support for real property and corporate transactions throughout the firm. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team with an innovative practice.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing independent professional support services as a member of the Vancouver Due Diligence Team.
  • To provide specialized due diligence support throughout the Firm by:
    • Conducting due diligence for real property and commercial transactions including corporate registry, bankruptcy, personal property security registry, Bank Act security registry, land title, court registry (BC and federal), environmental, and municipal;
    • Analyzing search results and preparing summaries and lists of issues;
    • Coordinating searches throughout all jurisdictions in Canada;
    • Preparing draft PPSA registrations, amendments and discharges;
    • Providing fee quotes for due diligence matters;
    • Keeping up to date on public registry requirements; and
    • Liaising with clients, agents and counterparts in our other offices.
  • Assisting with other corporate matters, as required.
  • Maintaining the integrity of all record keeping systems.
  • Keeping current on changes in legislation and government policy and informing others as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • College Degree/Certificate in Paralegal studies or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in corporate law.
  • Knowledge of ecore is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical skills, good judgment, organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Client-service oriented, including strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
