Job Description

Overview:Our Park Guides work in various areas throughout the Park, engaging with our guests, hosting scheduled history, culture, and nature talks, as well as our kids program and engagement stations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be open and approachable to assist guests with any questions or queries.
  • Assist guests with wayfinding and be familiar with all offerings available for guests on the given day.
  • Responsible for greeting guests as they enter attractions and provide reminders of safety policies.
  • Deliver our rainforest explorer kids’ program with a sense of enthusiasm and fun.
  • Deliver scheduled talks.
  • Familiarize oneself with set information that forms the foundation of our talks and engagement carts. This information focuses on key topics: First Nations culture on the Northwest Coast, the history of the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and the flora and fauna of the temperate rainforest.
  • Be capable of leading groups and provide safety talks to under 17 groups.
Considerations:
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Team Members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time
  • Team Members are expected to deliver the position as described under various weather conditions including but not limited to sun, rain, snow, sleet
  • Team Members must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions in the dark
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of Guest Services experience
  • Positive, friendly, outgoing, and energetic personality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in public speaking or guide experience is a strong asset
  • Level 1 or 2 occupational first aid is an asset
  • Second language is an asset
