Demonstrates and maintains exceptional skill in writing, editing and packaging for online.Please note this is a permanent part-time weekend position.Key Tasks:Writes, edits, packages, and publishes digital content in a clear and concise manner.Curates the local landing page.Ensures the website and stories adhere to the priorities of the day.Chases, gathers and reports information from various sources.Re-writes material as necessary to make it more relevant to the platform.Selects photos, and video/audio clips to accompany online stories.Contributes to local radio and TV newscasts as needed.Your profile:University degree or equivalent.Two to three years of directly related experience in a multi-platform news environment.Proven understanding of the stories of underrepresented communities and how to tell them.Ensuring inclusive language and framing in stories that accurately represent the diverse experiences of British Columbians.Strong journalistic and communication skills.Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.If this sounds interesting, please click on Apply online.
